Clifton Capers Bar and Grill is a hidden oasis and a culinary delight. Located on Clifton Beach Road, it is open nightly for dinner and for lunch and breakfast on weekends. Clifton Capers is a real favourite haunt for the tourists and locals alike. At Clifton Village Shopping Centre there are new Restaurants just about to take up residence as well as a well established Italian Pizza take-away shop and a fish and chip and hamburger shop. Alternatively, you can walk from Clifton Beach to Palm Cove along the beautiful beachfront where there are several award winning beachfront restaurants or go in the opposite direction and head towards Trinity Beach via car.

Fortunately for some unfortunately for others Clifton Beach is lacking in the nightlife department but with Palm Cove right next door this is only a mild inconvenience. In Palm Cove you will find a sports bar with pokie machines, a karaoke bar and several up-scale cocktail bars and restaurants that are open late. But do not go here expecting a dance party or anything similar. Palm Cove is a very laid back relaxed destination.

At Clifton Village Shopping Centre you will find a large supermarket, newsagency, bottle shop, bakery, butcher, chemist, tourist information shop and several little specialty retail stores. There is also a dentist and a doctor’s office; more shopping can be found in Palm Cove.

Clifton Beach is an ideal spot to stay if you want to experience the many trips and day-tours of the region. Because Clifton Beach is positioned in between Cairns and Port Douglas you have the option of seeing the Great Barrier Reef from either departure points. From Cairns head out to some beautiful sand-cays, or to the outer Normon or Saxton Reef. If you are looking for a half day trip, then take a catamaran, sea place or helicopter to Green Island. Leaving for Port Douglas you can spend the day on Agincourt Ribbon Reef right at the end of the continental shelf. During whale season (July-September) many whales frequent these reefs. Alternatively for a quiet day on and island visit Low Isles where the snorkelling is fantastic and you will have a good chance of spotting sea turtles. Choose from seeing the Daintree rainforest north of Port Douglas where rare cassowaries and crocodiles co-exist or else ride the Kuranda Scenic Rail or Sky Rail from Cairns and discover the fascinating rainforest village of Kuranda.
