Experience the natural beauty of the Far North on this 2 Night/ 3 Day Adventure discovering the Daintree Rainforest in Cape Tribulation and along the Bloomfield Track to the historic village of Cooktown departing Cairns, twice a week.
Travelling in a purpose built 4WD vehicle your experienced driver/guide will pick you up from your Cairns Accommodation and start your adventure travelling north along the scenic coastal road to Daintree River where you will enjoy morning tea and a 1 hour River Cruise. You will then continue on to the Alexandra Range for panoramic views of the World Heritage Rainforest meeting the Coral Sea. Experience the rainforest up close, with a Guided Rainforest Walk on an elevated boardwalk through the ancient rainforest. Enjoy a BBQ Lunch with an opportunity to hand feed a kangaroo before continuing onto the 4WD Bloomfield Track to the pristine Emmagen Creek where you can enjoy a refreshing swim or wildlife spotting. Visit Cape Tribulation Beach for a beach walk and to snap a photo of the coast where the "Rainforest meets the Sea" before being transferred to your overnight accommodation Heritage Loge & Spa where you have the remainder of the day and evening at your leisure. After breakfast you will be picked up by your Adventure North guide where you will continue onto Cooktown via the 4WD Bloomfield Track providing incredible glimpses of Australia hard to find. Travel over rugged mountain ranges, river crossings and spot wildlife and fauna. Stopping for lunch at the Lion's Den Hotel one of Queenslands' landmark pubs, we then continue onto Black Mountain, and onto Grassy Hill Lookout for the spectacular views of the Endeavour River. Enjoy the evening at your leisure at the Sovereign Hotel. (B, MT & Lunch)
Enjoy a free day to explore Cooktown or ask us about the Optional Rainbow Serpent Rock Art Tour. This afternoon return to Cairns by the inland road through a diverse landscape of cattle stations and the Far North Queensland outback with a stop for evening meal (at own expense) returning to Cairns approximately 9pm.

DAY ONE Cairns - Mungumby Lodge (305 Kms)
Driving north from Cairns via Mareeba past Kuranda to the Mulligan Highway onto Mt Carbine. View true Outback aussie landscape and a quick stop at Palmer River Roadhouse is a must. Continue on to Lakeland before following signs to Bloomfield, Lions' Den and Mungumby Lodge. Driving Time from Cairns: approx 3.5 hours. Overnight Mungumby Lodge
DAY Two Cooktown (60 Kms)
Enjoy continental Breakfast at the Lodge before a day exploring the Cooktown region. Ensure to stop at Black Mountain National Park on your way to Cooktown and Grassy Hill light house for 360 degree views. Visit James Cook Museum (included) to learn about the rich history of the area. The Cooktown Botanic Gardens, established in 1878 are well worth a visit and a very important part of Australian heritage. In the afternoon enjoy a dip in the waterfall, or walk along the Mungumby Creek. Driving Time from Lodge - approx 35min each way. Overnight Mungumby Lodge
DAY THREE Mungumby Lodge - Laura - Port Douglas (367 Kms)
Enjoy an early start after Breakfast travelling north to Laura, with stunning escarpments and rich history. Arrive at the Quinkan Regional Cultural Centre at Laura where you will meet your guide and travel by 4WD to the Quinkan Galleries for interpretation of the ancient stories. The Quinkan Galleries Tour (included) is approx 3 hours, and is acknoledged as being the most highly regarded rock art in the region. After your guided tour enjoy a picnic lunch in Laura, check out the General Store & Post Office to send a postcard. Return back to Port Douglas via Lakeland towards Mareeba.
