The Resort features an outdoor swimming pool, BBQ area, volleyball court, TV lounge, Bar and entertainment area, communal kitchen, guest laundry, parking and tour desk.

Ideally located in the heart of this unusual harmony is your hideaway, Ferntree Hostel, where a rare nature lover’s paradise awaits you. Go bushwalking, horse riding, kayaking, snorkelling, jungle surfing, taste exotic fruits, enjoy rainforest walks by day or by night, crocodile cruises, fishing, bird watching, 4WD tours — or simply unwind in one of Australia's most beautiful, untouched settings.

Basic business facilities such internet dial-up connection and faxing are available at reception. No mobile phone reception is available.

Location

Ferntree Hostel is located in Cape Tribulation. From Cairns drive past Port Douglas and Mossman. Cross the Daintree Cableway and then continue 40 minutes, Ferntree Hostel is on the left hand side of the road.

To get to Ferntree Hostel you can use the following options:
Coach transfers are available between Cairns and Cape Tribulation daily. We can recommend suitable transport companies who offer daily transfers to and from Cairns airport; they also provide a similar service from Port Douglas. Transfer time is approximately two and half hours each way from Cairns. Alternatively we have a range of overnight tours which include guided tours enroute to Cape Tribulation, to ensure you experience the best of our World Heritage Rainforests. (see more below)

You can also organise to hire a car or drive your own and enjoy the magnificent scenery at your leisure. Once you arrive at the Daintree River the ferry, operating between 6am to 11pm, will take you across to Cape Tribulation.

Overnight Tours from Cairns

The Tour - Travel along one of Australia’s best scenic drives in the comfort of an air-conditioned bus. Enjoy time in the Daintree Village then a guided rainforest walk on your way the only place in the world where two-world heritage listed areas combine.

You will be dropped off just before lunch time at your accommodation and pick you back up just after lunch time on the day of your return. You will have ample time to partake in the many activities on offer at additional cost while you are in Cape Tribulation.

On our return trip there is an optional stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company, and a stop for a great photo opportunity as the Alexandra range Lookout before heading back across the Daintree River via a cable ferry.Then get up close and personal with our native rainforest wildlife at the Daintree Wildlife Sanctuary, where local wildlife is rehabilitated. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water at Mossman Gorge before stopping in for a look at Port Douglas before we have to drop you back to your accommodation. See Packages for rates...
