Williams Lodge is a heritage listed property that was first purchased in 1896 by Henry Sydney Williams. During WWII Williams Lodge became Yungaburra’s social club and turned into a lively house equipped with a dance floor providing much entertainment for over 120,000 troops who were stationed in the region. In 2002 William’s Lodge underwent massive restorative renovations which saw it collect distinguishable rewards such as, “ Best Project in North Queensland,” “Best Restoration of a Heritage Building in Queensland” and “ Best Landscape” in the Queensland Master Builder Awards. The elegant building is a collection of five different suites and still maintains traditional heritage flavours. The Carrington Suite is situated where the original master bedroom lay. The suite has a master bedroom with king sized bed, an ensuite with a spa bath that overlooks the seven sisters mountain range, and a kitchenette that includes a bar fridge and breakfast bar; the suite also has a magnificent veranda showcasing million-dollar views of the volcanic mountain ranges. The Sydonia Suite has the best views in the house. This heritage suite has a king sized bed and an ensuite with a spa and a shower. The Sydonia Suite also has kitchenette, lounge area and gorgeous timber balcony with stunning volcanic mountain views. The Woodleigh Suite is another penthouse suite with a king sized master bedroom and ensuite with a spa. The Woodleigh Suite has a separate lounge area, kitchenette and large furnished outdoor patio. Finally the Eacham and Nyleta Suites are smaller and designed for couples. These suites have ensuite bathrooms and bar fridges.

Yungaburra is one hour from Cairns if you take the southern Gillies highway alternatively if you take the northern Kuranda range it will take one and a half hours. The Kuranda range is probably the most popular as this road is not as long and windy as the Gillies Highway
