The Blue Lagoon Holiday Villa is ideal holiday accommodation that allows couples to reconnect with each other and the surrounding pristine tropical environment. Designed with the tropics in mind, the Blue Lagoon Holiday Home provides a cool retreat for you and your partner, with louvered timber window shutters allowing natural breeze to circulate freely and air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout.

When guests need cool relief enjoy the 400 square metre saltwater lagoon-style swimming pool that snakes around the Villa. The swimming pool is a highlight of the retreat, complete with tranquil water features, cascading water falls and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The swimming pool blends seamlessly into the surrounding natural environment, and is reminiscent of a secret swimming hole that can be found in the mountains of the near-by forest.

Outdoor living is exceptional at Misty Mountain Nature Retreat and there is an abundance of outdoor dining areas, a Webber barbeque – perfect to prepare alfresco breakfasts and diners, and a romantic picnic area that is located under the majestic Elephant fruit trees.

Misty Mountain Nature Retreat - The Glass Bar

One of the most unique features of Misty Mountains Nature Retreat is the Glass Bar, a free standing entertainment and games room. The name of the bar was inspired by the stunning full length windows that span the entire entertainment room from the ceiling to the floor boasting seemingly endless views of the lush Australian wilderness.

The Glass Bar provides the ultimate location to shoot some pool, mix some cocktails and relax on the large red leather couch while listening to a wide variety of music. The Glass Bar is equipped with state of the art entertainment features such as surround sound, a deluxe entertainment system, a Sony Wii, an enormous 180 cm suspended LCD television screen, and Ecue and bullet lighting.

The Glass Bar comes complete with a black granite and black glass bar that can be fully stocked upon request. Enjoy a cocktail, cold Australian beer or freshly mixed tropical cocktail. For the non-drinkers there is a coffee machine behind the bar, perfect for creamy cappuccinos or lattes. The ambiance of the Glass Bar is unique, and guests can appreciate the mirror panels and mirror ball that ooze disco fever of the 1970’s with a contemporary twist.

Take advantage of the full sized pool table, and enjoy a game or two during the long balmy tropical nights. Guests can enjoy adult entertainment with the dancing pole that is centrally located in prime position in the Glass Bar. The Glass Bar is hidden amongst the lush green trees of the forest, and provides guests with uninterrupted views of the surrounding Australian wilderness.

With prior notice all groceries can be sourced and delivered to Misty Mountains Nature Retreat prior to guests’ arrival. Tropical North Queensland is renowned for the freshest seasonal produce, quality locally grown meats and seafood plucked straight from the Coral Sea. Guests are welcome to arrange their own provisions, and the surrounding area provides a multitude of fresh regional produce to be sourced for your Misty Mountains nature escape.

For guests who enjoy dining out, Misty Mountains Nature Retreat is located a short 15 minute drive to the quaint township of Babinda, or a 45 minute drive to the tropical city of Cairns, providing a plethora of fine restaurants and cafes where guests can enjoy exquisitely prepared food created by world class chefs.

While in the quaint township of Babinda it is definitely worth visiting the Babinda Hotel, a historic tavern located on the main street of town. The Babinda Hotel boasts a unique history, being the only Queensland tavern built by the State Government! Opened since 1917, the Babinda Hotel continues to offer visitors sumptuous bistro meals and cold refreshing Australian ales and larger.

Misty Mountains Nature Retreat is located 40 minutes south of the City of Cairns and 15 minutes north of Babinda at the base of Mt Bellenden Ker.
