Cairns
As one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations, with a huge range of local attractions, dining options, the reef, rainforest and much more, Cairns is the perfect location for the Masters Games!
While in Cairns, why not explore the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest or the namesake of the event, the Great Barrier Reef? Swim with turtles, explore pristine waterfalls, marvel at huge towering trees and swim in ancient crater lakes, all within an hour of Cairns.
Head up into the mountains and visit the friendly rainforest village of Kuranda where you can cuddle a Koala, or head north to the seaside village of Port Douglas to indulge in dining and shopping in paradise.
Head west and discover the Outback just a few hours from Cairns, where abandoned mines, Aboriginal culture, huge limestone caves and ancient lava tubes are waiting to be discovered.
Cairns is also on the doorstep to the real rugged north of Australia. Journey through the wilderness to discover Cooktown and Cape York. Soak up pioneer history, knock back a cold beer in a memorable pub, wet a line to catch a Barramundi, or simple enjoy the scenery.
