Iconic Tourism Company Supports the Fashionable Cairns Amateurs
Interview with Pip Woodward, Managing Director CAPTA Group.
“We recognise the Cairns Amateurs as a very significant event for the local Cairns economy. The event attracts people from all over Australia. Our family has not missed one event, for 38 years. We always go to everything,” she said.
We have sponsored The Ladies Fashion High Tea event for the last 3 years and we are very proud to be associated with the Cairns Amateurs, We have such a good time during the event and it is a fabulous catch up with old friends.
We at the CAPTA group bring our sales team and clients to the Ladies High Tea, and it is a highly sort after invitation by our clients. Mrs. Woodward went on to say, that those people coming from the south, will love the tropical atmosphere, it is very light hearted and fun.
“It is not as formal as the southern race meetings, but we still get dressed up to the ‘nine’s’. We take our fashion very seriously at the Cairns Amateurs, and the local boutiques and shoe shops do a roaring trade, it’s great for the local economy and that is why our company chooses to be a sponsor of one of the most fashionable Cairns events, the Ladies High Tea.”
It is not just another country race meeting, you need to have your fashion wardrobe planned out for each days event well in advance, It is colourful , good fun. and “ sophisticated with a tropical twist”.
I have seen so many improvements over the years, and I congratulate the committee of the Cairns Amateurs, they have upgraded the original race track facilities in leaps and bounds.
The members area is very comfortable and caters well for the ladies, The Committee does a great job and are always willing to try new things and events, and that is why the event is experiencing a surge in popularity.
If people have not been to the Cairns Amateurs for a long time, they need to come back to see the improvements and changes, said Mrs Woodward.
The CAPTA group has several tourist parks including Rainforestation Nature Park, Australian Butterfly Sanctuary both at Kuranda and Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas.
The surprising Wildlife Dome and ZOOM perched on top of the casino right in the centre of town, there you can see many different animal presentations and set amongst the trees and birds is a mid and high ropes course complete with a zipline over Goliath the 4metre croc and a 13 metre power jump !!
