Cockatoo Hill Retreat has two different styles of accommodation – Rainforest Treehouses and the Riverside Retreat:

Rainforest Treehouse
The Rainforest Treehouses at Cockatoo Hill Retreat are exclusive and elegant, and provide unlimited views of the pristine tropical rainforest and azure waters of the Coral Sea in the distance. The Rainforest Tree houses is Balinese-inspired rainforest accommodation and feature hand made thatched roofs that can be glimpsed amongst the canopy of the forest trees. Upon entering your private and luxurious Treehouse you will be greeted by rich timber floors that stretch out to the external balcony that offers sweeping tropical views. From the moment you enter your private Rainforest Treehouse it feels magical and peaceful, like you never want to leave. This is an Australian wilderness experience like no other. Wake to the sounds of the forest birds and listen to the quiet rustling of the forest creatures as you sleep at night.

Attention to detail is paramount at Cockatoo Hill Retreat. All the furniture is exquisitely hand crafted and there is soft, underfloor lighting that creates an unforgettable romantic ambiance. Riverside Retreat
Riverside Retreat is a secluded self contained timber pole cottage privately nestled at the edge of the rainforest. Guest of the Riverside Retreat at the Cockatoo Hill Retreat have private enjoyment of a pristine 20 acre rainforest property, the ideal tropical escape from the ‘real world’. The Riverside Retreat are simple yet elegant with a large living area that opens up onto a spacious veranda with stunning views of Thornton’s Peak. These lovely timber Riverside Retreats have self contained kitchens with a fridge, gastove/ oven. Although this romantic retreat primarily caters towards couples, small families are welcome. The spacious Riverside Retreat boasts a luxurious king size bed and a pull out sofa bed located in the lounge.

Cockatoo Hill Retreat is a 2 hour drive north of Cairns City and only 1 hour north of Port Douglas. Cockatoo Hill Retreat is located 17 km away from the Daintree River Ferry Crossing and is nestled on its own private patch of paradise.
