Cooktown Accommodation Mungumby Lodge is boutique lodge offering private bungalow accommodation set amongst the gorgeous tropical rainforest. Experience the wilderness in comfort of your own timber bungalow or unwind in the main Lodge with Guest Lounge and Library. After a day of exploring the region enjoy a relaxing dip in the Swimming Pool overlooking the tropical rainforest.
New Aussie Fire Pit & BBQ Pavilion offers guests a self-help grill overlooking Mungumby Creek. The Homestead fridge is also available for larger items, along with plates, cutlery, glass ware and microwave in the BBQ pavilion.
Evening Meals are available at the Lions Den Hotel, 5 mins drive away. Microwave meals are also available to purchase from the homestead bar.
Explore rainforest waterfalls (Croc FREE), wildlife spotting and embrace the knowledge of the Aboriginal culture all whilst staying at Mungumby Lodge, an area of high cultural significance to the Kuku Yalanji people.
Visit Queensland's most famous Aboriginal Rock Art at Split Rock, Laura, accessible via sealed road from lakeland Downs.

Mungumby Lodge Cooktown Weddings
Looking for a tranquil and intimate setting for your Rainforest Wedding? Mungumby Lodge offers an ideal setting amongst the tropical gardens and can cater for Wedding parties up to 30 guests.
Location
Located at Helenvale, Black Mountain approximately 25 minutes before Cooktown and 3.5 hours from Cairns via the inland road (sealed).
Self Driving to Mungumby Lodge you have two options to Black Mountain either via the Inland Road which is sealed, or by the Coastal Road via Cape Tribulation which is 4WD only. The 4km driveway of Mungumby Lodge is unsealed but suitable for 2WD May - January. During the months of February - April a 4x4 may be more suitable.
The Inland way (Mulligan Highway) is open all year but can experience road closures at McLeod River during the wet months. Sign posts to Mungumby Lodge are well sighted along the highway.
Flights from Cairns to Cooktown operate 5 days a week and take approximately 45 minutes, these can be booked with your accommodation and approximately $270 per person return. Private Charter flights can be arranged for Helenvale airstrip near Mungumby Lodge, along with private Helicopter charters.
