Mt. Quincan Cater Retreat Style of Room

At Mt. Quincan Crater Retreat there are six pole cabins each one being completely isolated from the others to maximize the privacy for guests. Each fully self-contained timber pole cabin contains a king size bed, sofa lounge, double spa, and wood fireplace.

The new Canopy Cabins also feature a private outdoor deck and opulent shower where you are able to enjoy rainforest and wildlife views from the privacy of your own shower.

The romantic Treehouses are designed for couples to revitalize and refresh their relationships. Spa treatments such as therapeutic massages are available in the privacy of your own pole-cabin. The double spa looks out to the mountains and crater and is situated on a secluded balcony.

In the fine tradition of bed and breakfast establishments, fresh muffins, homemade jams, marmalade and local honey are supplied along with special blended local coffee, a selection of cereal and local fruit.

From your pole timber home you can explore the crater and surrounding 150 acre cattle property which is brimming with native birds, plants and wildlife. Mt. All the attractions of the Atherton Tablelands are within reach of Mt. Only a short drive away are some of the Tableland’s best attractions such as the Curtain Fig Tree, Lake Tinaroo, Lake Eacham, Lake Barrine, the Kauri Pines, the Waterfall Circuit and the Mungalli Creek Organic Dairy Farm and cafe. A further drive over the Atherton Tablelands and you will find Coffee Plantations, Wineries and the Hippie/ Tourist town Kuranda. Mt. Quincan Crater is the result of a cinder cone volcano that was active between 3 million and 20,000 years ago which formerly produced eruptions of ash, cinders and small amounts of lava. Mt. Quincan possesses renowned geological significance and is the largest of the cinder cone volcanoes on the tablelands at 170 meters tall and .5-.1 km. across.

To add to the distinctiveness of this region is the fragile Mabi Rainforest. The Mabi Rainforest, which used to cover the entire Cairns Highlands, is now confined only to the small Atherton Shire. Labeled as a critically endangered ecological environment, the Mabi Rainforest contains several rare and vulnerable plants such as the: Pink Silky Oak, Atherton Sauropus and Red Penda. Along with delicate flora, rare fauna such as the Lumholtz's Tree-Kangaroo, Red-legged Pademelon and Green Ringtail Possums subsist around Mt. Quincan; the ecological phenomenon that exists around Mt. Quincan Crater Retreat is apparent from every corner of your luxurious pole tree-house.

Location

Mt. Quincan Crater Retreat is situated just outside the quaint town of Yungaburra on the Atherton Tablelands. The luxurious retreat is only 60 minutes away from Cairns and you can access the area via the Kuranda Range, north of Cairns or the Gillies Highway South of Cairns; the shortest distance is approximately 56 kilometres via the Gillies Highway.
